Authorities arrest driver in hit-and-run

Raleigh Police have arrested a woman believed to be the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident on New Year's Day.Police say a man was walking along the edge of Hillsborough Street in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, when someone driving a red Mazda Miata hit him.

The man sustained leg and head injuries.

Authorities say tips lead police to 19-year-old Virginia Dresser. They say she turned herself in Friday afternoon.

Dresser is charged with felony hit-and-run as well as careless and reckless driving.
