The body of 22-year-old Aimee Lynn Pitt was discovered at her home at 1209 Newsome Street.
She was found after a neighbor called to complain about a bad odor coming from the house. Her body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine her cause of death.
Pitt lived at the home with her boyfriend, Ben Harrelson.
Authorities say she hadn't been seen since Dec. 30 and was reported missing by her father on Jan. 3.
Search warrants state detectives interviewed Harrelson about Pitt on January 3 and he told them Pitt stayed up late while he went to bed.
However, when police interviewed him again on Jan. 8, he told them Pitt was drunk and that they had a fight and she left.
The next day, the warrants say Harrelson tried to kill himself by crashing his car.
The documents also indicate Harrelson asked a friend if he could have access to his farmland the day Pitt disappeared and visited a friend that night.
"This contradicts Harrelson's statement that he went home after work and did not leave his residence," reads the warrant.Friends who helped search for Pitt declined to talk to ABC11 about the situation - but say they're in disbelief and say she was a great person.
Harrelson's friend, Larry Summerlin, says the same thing about Harrelson.
"I've known Ben probably since elementary school," Summerlin said. "Everything I knew about him was good. I wouldn't expect anything you know bad to come out of anything like this."
Pitt's MySpace page shows the last login was five days before she was last seen. It has a posting that says "Ben is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He treats me like a princess. I'm in love."
Harrelson had been at Pitt County Memorial Hospital since he was involved in a car accident Jan. 8, but ABC11 has learned he was released Friday morning.
He has not been charged with any crime.
