NC couple claims $1 million lottery

STALLINGS, N.C. Lottery officials announced Tuesday evening that the winners have come forward and just in the nick of time.

Erin and Raleigh Hill, who live in the Union County town of Stallings, cashed in their winning MegaMillions ticket late Tuesday afternoon, after purchasing it back in August at a gas station in their hometown.

They say they knew they had the winner all along. The ticket was set to expire Wednesday night at 5 p.m.

It would have been the state lottery’s first unclaimed million-dollar winner.
