Troubleshooter: Yankees fan

Paul Greer loves his New York Yankees.

"We're big time Yankee fans. We sometimes go to spring training, Yankee stadium. I'm like a kid in a candy shop. I'm still a little boy playing high school baseball," he explained.

Greer says he was looking forward to this season.

"I can't imagine being without the Yankee baseball. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a diehard, tough nut, Yankee baseball fan," said Greer.

Greer's been watching the games with no problems each year by subscribing to the Major League Baseball package through his satellite TV provider. This December, he says a representative from AT&T showed up at his door to sell him their U-verse package.

"He gave us a half a dozen reasons why we should change, and he also said it's probably going to save you some money too," Greer recalled.

Greer said the deal sounded good on one condition.

"You all going to have MLB, Major League Baseball extra innings package because we watch baseball, and I'm never going to have anything that doesn't have MLB package," Greer said he remembers asking. "Ya, we'll have it, and it starts in March for $42 a month for four months, and he acted like he knew what he was talking about."

Greer said he also inquired about the nearly $400 early termination fee he would have to pay if he switched providers.

"He said 'We will pay that. AT&T will pay that,' and I said that's fine so I can't see any way we can get hurt on this thing," said Greer. "They installed all the receivers and we're happy as can be."

Happy that was until spring training rolled around and Greer says he called AT&T to add the MLB package.

"I called AT&T and told them I want to sign up for this MLB package, and they said we don't have MLB, and I said Wooo," said Greer.

No Yankee baseball to watch, plus Greer says AT&T only paid $200 towards his early termination fee.

"I only want what you said you would provide for us and that's not asking too much. You said you would do this, and that's all I want," said Greer.

Greer says he got nowhere with AT&T, so he turned to ABC11. We reached out to AT&T.

"I guess you punched the right button because they next communication I had was from the office of the president of AT&T," said Greer.

AT&T worked with Greer and credited his account the entire early termination fee, plus a $45 a month credit for the length of his service to cover what the MLB package costs monthly.

"I don't think it would have happened if I wouldn't have gotten you involved," said Greer. "I'm a happy camper now. I'm going to go watch baseball."

Greer says he'll be able to do that by getting a different provider for the TV in his baseball room.

AT&T issued a statement to ABC11:

"AT&T values Mr. Greer's business. We were happy to work with him to resolve this issue, and we're glad he opted to continue receiving the U-verse service."
