Man facing charges a no show in court

DURHAM Peter Moses was supposed to appear in court on two misdemeanor charges that stem from a 2006 weapons charge case.

Since he did not show up in court, a warrant for his arrest may soon be issued.

Once caught, authorities will also ask him about a missing person's case they're currently working on.

They consider Moses the leader of a so-called religious cult they've connected to the disappearance of 5-year-old Jaden Higgenbothem.

A search warrant says the boy lived in a Durham house with at least nine adults before he vanished in October.

An informant told police that Moses shot and killed the child in a fit of rage.

Durham officers spent hours on Tuesday searching wooded areas near the home, but they found no sign of the child or Antoinetta McKoy -- who also vanished in December.
