Firefighters douse 'major' fire at nursing home

RALEIGH The fire broke out in the laundry area of the facility, where no patients are housed.

Crews were dispatched to Blue Ridge Health Care Center at 3830 Blue Ridge Road just after 3:30 p.m.

There are no reports of injuries, but some residents did have to be moved.

As a precaution, Wake County also dispatched its multi-patient transport bus, known as EVAC-1.

Crews eventually got the fire out, containing it to that laundry area.

No one was hurt.
