The Garner Police Department says 35-year-old Joshua Andrew White is charged with two felony counts of having sex with a student. The warrant says the 18-year-old student attends Garner High School.
The alleged incidents happened in March.
The high school's website says White is the head of the Drama Department, a teacher and a director. White joined the staff in 2002 after teaching in Oxford, N.C. for three years.
Bond was set at $40,000.
