Police: Man wanted for attempted murder

FAYETTEVILLE Police are searching for Christopher Antonio Lock, also known as "Boo Boo," for the shooting and attempted robbery of 48-year-old Joseph McPeak on Sunday.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Center Street. Officials transported McPeak to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after he was found with a gunshot wound to the face.

He was later taken to the medical facility at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives have obtained warrants against Lock charging him with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say Lock is considered to be armed and dangerous.

His last known address was listed as 5155 Hummingbird Place in Fayetteville, but he is also known to frequent the Massey Hill area.

Anyone who knows where Lock might be is asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
