Department spokesperson Debbie Tanna said 33-year-old Karson Benjamin Warner used a game of "Truth or Dare" to coax a 5-year-old boy into a sexual encounter.
Tanna said it happened in 2009, but deputies began investigating when the alleged victim recently told his mother about the incident.
Detectives say Warner allegedly dared the child to remove all of his clothes and run outside naked. Warner then proceeded to touch the boy inappropriately.
Warner is charged with taking indecent liberties with a child. Bond was set at $100,000.
