Twenty-seven-year-old Anwar Antuan Overby was arrested Tuesday evening.
Cary police say Overby was spotted breaking into a home on Park Crest Drive in late June.
Detectives say Overby chased down the neighbor who saw him, knocked her to the ground, and took her phone.
The woman spent a day in the hospital with serious hand injuries.
Police say Overby has committed similar crimes before. He's a habitual felon charged with three break-ins in Durham last year.
