Investigators said the driver was taken to Johnston Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Pictures from the scene showed the truck came to rest on its side and the hood was knocked open by the impact.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
