Police believe he may have taken off in his car - a 2002 silver Hyundai Sonata with North Carolina plates MVZ-1193.
A Silver Alert has been issued for Trammell, because family members say he is in the beginning stages of dementia.
Trammell is described as a bald white man with hazel eyes, who stands about 5' 7" tall and weighs about 140 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a short sleeve shirt and light colored pants.
