Raleigh apartments damaged by fire

Flames damaged an apartment building at Steinbeck Dr. and Bland Rd. in Raleigh Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the property around 9:15 a.m.

The fire was through the roof of one building, but the blaze was quickly extinguished.

Officials said eight adults and six children were displaced by the fire. Housing was being found for them in other apartment building in the complex and the Red Cross was also helping out.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
