An officer witnessed the three speed away from a traffic light on Grove Street towards Highway 24 at approximately 85 miles per hour early Friday morning.
Eighteen year old Deandre Kelly's Nissan 240 SX, 18-year-old Matthew Draughon's Toyota Corolla GTS, and 18-year-old Jamil Lawson's Nissan 240 SX have all been impounded.
The trio are charged with pre-arranged racing and careless and reckless driving.
Police say the cars will be kept by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office until the men's cases are adjudicated.
