Pedestrian dies after being hit by driver in Zebulon, NC Highway Patrol says

ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed in Zebulon Friday morning.

It happened around 5 a.m. at Old Bunn Road.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), the person walked into the middle of an unlit road. That's when a driver struck them.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released yet. No charges have been filed.

In August of this year, a 1-year-old boy died after being struck by a driver in the 1100 block of Ridgecrest Drive. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol identified the child as Jonathan Martinez-Juarez.
