RALEIGH, N.C. -- It's bowling season and for college football fans it's also the most wonderful time of the year.
NC State, Duke, and North Carolina universities have all accepted invitations to compete in the 2024-25 college football bowl games.

North Carolina lost to the University of Connecticut (UConn) 27-14 on Saturday at Fenway Park in Boston.
Joe Fagnano threw 151 yards and two touchdowns to help the Huskies beat the Tar Heels, embarrassing Bill Belichick's new team in his old backyard. The Tar Heels (6-7) scored on Chris Culliver's 95-yard kickoff return but had no real offense until RB Caleb Hood took over in the fourth quarter. He ran five times for 64 yards before throwing a 17-yard touchdown pass to John Copenhaver that made it 27-14.
This was the fourth game between the Tar Heels and the Huskies and the first since 2009. This was the Tar Heel's sixth consecutive appearance in a bowl game and their' 39th college bowl game appearance in program history.
The Huskies have won nine games for the first time since 2007.
It's North Carolina's first losing season since 2021 after losing its last three games.

NC State Football was defeated 26-21 East Carolina (ECU) on Saturday at the Go Bowling Military Bowl at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Rahjai Harris broke free for an 86-yard touchdown run with 1:33 remaining, giving East Carolina the victory over NC State that descended into a wild brawl in the final minute.
The matchup was NC State's 36th bowl qualification and its 35th bowl game played. It is the second time the Wolfpack has played in Navy's home stadium since 2002. The stadium is located in Annapolis, Maryland.

Duke University will meet Ole Miss in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. The match-up is in the EverBank Stadium the home field for the Jaguars. The stadium is located in Jacksonville, Florida.
The game will be the first between the Blue Devils and the Rebels. This is Duke's first appearance in the Gator Bowl.
