Raleigh police officer hurt in hit-and-run crash with another driver, suspect arrested

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh police officer had to be taken to the hospital after an early morning hit-and-run crash.

The crash took place at Skycrest Drive and Brentwood Road as the officer was responding to a call on Trawick Road.

RPD said a black Audi ran a red light and hit the police cruiser. That driver then ran away from the scene, but they have since been caught by police.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The road has been blocked off as investigators document the scene.
