Child-custody dispute leads to shooting in Aberdeen
Police said it was a dispute between two people. One of the shooters was struck and taken to Moore Regional Hospital.

ABERDEEN, N.C. (WTVD) -- A child custody dispute ended in a shootout Tuesday in Moore County.

It happened on Victory Lane in Aberdeen just before noon.

Police said it was a dispute between two people. Investigators told ABC11 that one person was shot in the back with a shotgun. The victim was taken to Moore Regional Hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.

The other shooter is still on the loose.

Police said two houses were also hit during the shooting.

It remains unclear whether the child at the center of the dispute was at the scene at the time.
