Man wearing skull mask robs 3 Raleigh restaurants in 10 minutes
RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Raleigh Police are investigating after a suspect in a skull mask apparently robbed three businesses in 10 minutes on Capital Boulevard Wednesday night.
The robberies were reported at businesses within a 4-mile radius.
The first incident happened at Mona Pita Mediterranean Grill, at 5260 Capital Blvd., around 9:11 p.m.
The Subway restaurant at 6320 Capital Blvd. called in just two minutes later, and then the Dunkin Donuts at 8401 Capital Blvd. was apparently robbed at 9:19 p.m.
All three businesses reported the suspect was wearing a skull mask.
One of the owners of Mona Pita Grill said she was in the back of the restaurant when the gunman walked in, screaming, and asking for money. She escaped by running through a rear door and outside.
"I went between the trees to the Capital Boulevard entrance and I called 911," Muna Cheko said. "I was so scared. I got worried because when I saw him I didn't know what to do."
Cheko said she was also worried because her employee, Farid Elkhoury, was still inside.
"I was behind here coming back with the spatulas," Elkhoury said. "He was holding a gun in my face and that's something I never lost sight of."
Farid couldn't get the register to open, so the man took off.
"I believe God Almighty did not want that register to open," he said.
Police tell ABC11 that they believe the suspect is connected to robberies at the Circle K in Cary and the Eagles Convenience Store in Morrisville last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Wednesday's robberies remain under investigation.
