RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A new downtown Raleigh shop is selling designer consignment items without designer prices.

When you step inside Nora and Nicky's Designer Resale store in downtown Raleigh, it may feel a little different than other consignment shops - and that's exactly what owner Cathy Brooks is hoping to accomplish.

"What separates us is the way the store is set up," explained Brooks. "We're curated and kind of very edited, so we don't have the massive crush of merchandise. That's one thing that separates us. Another thing is we don't accept typical mall brands with the exception of J.CREW and Anthropologie - those are very popular as a mall brand label. And then, we have everything from Michael Kors to Trina Turk, Tory Birch, Louis Vuitton, every once in a while Chanel. Just a little bit of everything like that of the higher end designers."

No to mention, the prices are not on the high end.

"We do research on it and it was $500, we're going to price it about a third of that," Brooks said. "Now if its new with tags, we tend to do half."

Every tag in the store shows the full retail price of the item and many are 15 percent off.

Nora and Nicky's is always looking for in season items to sell and you don't need an appointment to drop off. The general rule of thumb is items should be from the last three years unless it is a vintage piece.

Nora and Nicky's is offering ABC11 viewers a discount on purchases. Just mention you saw the story on ABC11.
