Exterminators in the Triangle say they used to get about one report a month bed bugs but that has spiked to six or seven a month.
Experts say people sometimes bring bed bugs into their homes when they buy used furniture at yard sales.
Also, never put your clothes or luggage on the floor when traveling.
To find out if you have bed bugs, inspect your sheets for red or brown spots.
