VIDEO: Baltimore teacher fired after racist rant goes viral

BALTIMORE, Md. -- A Baltimore teacher has been fired after a disturbing video surfaced showing her using a racial slur towards a classroom of students.

The now-viral video posted on Facebook by Erica Esha Deminds appears to show her son's teacher kicking a student out of class for "bad" behavior.

Afterward, the teacher can be heard ranting at the classroom of students and using the N-word.

"Your idiots. You have a chance to get an education. Do you wanna be a broke [expletive] [expletive] who's going to get shot?" the teacher is heard saying. "Learn something..be a man."

The video has already been viewed on Facebook more than 1.5 million times.

In a statement Thursday, the Baltimore City Public School District confirmed the incident took place inside a classroom at Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School on Tuesday.

Officials said the middle school science teacher is no longer employed by the district.
