Police looking for vehicle in connection with barbershop murder

JACKSONVILLE -- The Jacksonville Police Department released a photo Sunday of a vehicle suspected to be connected to a homicide that occurred Friday, April 1, 2016.



On Friday, police said Robert O'Brien Peterson, 40, was shot in front of Pro Kutz on Lejeune Boulevard. Peterson was later pronounced dead at the hospital.



Jacksonville Police Department said they're looking for a light colored 2009-2014 Honda Accord.



WCTI in Jacksonville spoke to the owner of Pro Kutz. She said Peterson had only been working at the shop for about two months. She said he recently moved to the area from Fayetteville.



The owner said Peterson was opening the store the morning of the shooting. He was the only one there at the time. She said he had gone outside to smoke a cigarette when a car drove up to him and shot him.



Police also said the victim's family is offering additional reward money for information leading to the arrest or apprehension of the suspect(s) in the case. The reward is now up to $6,000.
