CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- As a part of its Bicycle Safety Improvement Plan, the Town of Cary announced Thursday it will add bike sharrows on 14 miles of its streets.
The work will start Monday and continue in phases through the winter of 2017.
Sharrows are street pavement markings that indicate shared use and encourage drivers to safely pass bicyclists.
The first phase will include High House Road from Carpenter Upchurch Road to West Chatham Street; Evans Road from Northwest Cary Parkway to Northwest Maynard Road; Southeast Maynard Road from Kildaire Farm to Walnut Street; and West Chatham Street from Old Apex Road to West Park Street.
