Batteries stolen from 5 school buses in Apex

APEX, NC (WTVD) -- Thieves took advantage of the long Fourth of July weekend to strip the batteries from school buses parked in Apex.

Mechanics from Wake County Public Schools were out replacing the batteries in five buses at the lot off Apex Peakway Monday morning.

The batteries are valued at $63 each, and each bus has several.
