RTP's Quintiles named to the Fortune 500
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK (WTVD) -- Quintiles in Research Triangle Park has been named to the Fortune 500 list of largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue.
The world's largest biopharmaceutical services provider's CEO Tom Pike said Monday that being named to the Fortune 500 is a significant milestone in Quintiles' history.
"We operated as a private company for a full decade before returning to the public markets via IPO in 2013," he said in a press release. "Our inclusion in the Fortune 500 is another indicator that Quintiles is one of the most important companies headquartered in the United States, conducting business in 100 countries."

Companies considered for the Fortune 500 are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Included in the survey are companies that are incorporated in the U.S. and operate in the U.S. and file financial statements with a government agency.
