Utility pole snaps, closes part of Capital Blvd in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Capital Boulevard is closed in both directions at its intersection with Highwoods Boulevard because of downed power lines.

Police said a utility pole snapped Saturday around 1 a.m., downing lines across Capital.

The utility pole did not break because of a wreck, it just snapped.

Capital Blvd. reopened Saturday afternoon.
