COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (WTVD) -- Chick-fil-A is the latest company to be possibly hit with a data breach, but it wasn't immediately clear how many or even if customers would be impacted.
The company said on its website that it received reports of "potential unusual activity involving payment cards" at a few of their restaurants. They were first notified on Dec. 19 by payment industry contacts.
Chick-fil-A is working with IT security firms, law enforcement and its payment industry contacts on investigating the matter, the company said.
"We want to assure our customers we are working hard to investigate these events and will share additional facts as we are able to do so," Chick-fil-A said in a statement.
The company added that customers will not be liable for any fraudulent charges. For more information or support, customers may call (855) 398-6439.
