Since 1887 the Salvation Army of Wake County has helped provide Christmas gifts for thousands of families through its Holiday Cheer Program. After paying for everyday needs many parents don't have funds left over to purchase gifts to place under the tree for Christmas, but with the help of the community, the Salvation Army is able to open their Christmas Center every year to lend a helping hand. The Christmas Center allows parents to come and "shop" for new toys, clothing, and stockings to fill up. Through the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program the community is given the opportunity to choose a child and shop for them from their personal wish list.

In recent years they have registered as many as 8,600 children to be part of their cheer programs. This year they are looking for your help. If you are able to volunteer to assist in interviewing clients and entering data of those wishing to be registered please contact If you would like to volunteer please contact Jamie Britt Noble via email at jamie or call 919-390-6732.
