Cumberland County man goes missing
Lester Henry Wood

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office need the public's help finding a man who went missing last month.

Lester Henry Wood, also known as "Cozmo," is a 46-year-old white man who was last seen on June 21. He reportedly left his house in the 4100 block of Owls Head Road in the Grays Creek area of Fayetteville.

On July 6, Wood's red 1991 Ford Ranger truck was found abandoned on Highway 301 and Redfish Drive, at the entrance to Taylor's Creek Mobile Home Park.

Deputies said Wood's cell phone was found in the truck, but no additional evidence was recovered suggesting where he is.

According to authorities, Wood had been working at the solar farm off Rosalyn Road in Hope Mills before his disappearance.

A family friend told ABC11 Wood was reportedly seen in the Hope Mills area the day before his truck was discovered abandoned.

Friends and family say they just want him to come home. At this point, deputies are not ruling out any motive for his disappearance.

Anyone with information on Wood is urged to call 911, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500, or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-tips (8477).
