'Dancing With The Stars' double elimination leaves four couples in semi-finals

LOS ANGELES -- The six remaining couples on season 20 of "Dancing With The Stars" quickly became four semi-finalists this Tuesday night of double elimination.

Things started on a high note, with the judges asking the perfect-scoring Rumer Willis to perform an encore of her Paso Doble routine from Monday night. After she and Val Chmerkovskiy with the help of Artem Chigvintsev nailed the routine once again, they were told they were safe from elimination.

It was Chris Soules' turn next. He and Witney Carson were in jeopardy.

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson were then the first to be eliminated.

"It's such an inspiration to so many people, I'm honored to have been able to do this," Robert said.

Tom Bergeron tried to have a little fun with the couple and told Robert that while he may not have won the Mirror Ball Trophy, he suspected he may have won someone's (Kym's) heart.

The quick-witted TV shark replied, "Tom, I'm not sure I feel that way about you!"

After the show, Robert went a little deeper on the couple's relationship.

"There's a genuine friendship between Kym and I, and I think a lot of people are drawn in by that. In this world, how great is it to meet someone you get along this well with," Robert said.

But, back to the show. Army veteran Noah Galloway was the next competitor to be deemed safe and moved on to the semi-finals.

He's still nursing a bum toe, but Derek Hough and his partner Nastia Liukin will need to face the music for at least one more week as they made it to the semis.

That left Riker Lynch and Allison Holker in jeopardy, alongside Chris and Witney.

After Josh Groban serenaded us with his new version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," we learn "The Bachelor" farmer Chris is heading back to Iowa and his new fiance.

Soules became emotional after getting the boot, but through his tears said, "This has been an incredible experience. I'm thankful to have been a part of it. I came here and did something I've never done in my entire life. It's been life changing and I'm forever grateful."

He later elaborated: "I've become almost a dancer I think. It's something I don't want to quit doing," Soules said.

With Soules eliminated, Riker was deemed safe and will dance next week in the semi-final round.

Next Monday night, the four remaining couples will compete in a style of dance they haven't done before. They'll also be assigned a "judge's choice." Each star will be paired up with one of the judges, who will become the creative director for the routine and offer input on everything from style to song to costume.
