EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Authorities have released the final report on an Emerald Isle deck collapse from last weekend.

Carteret County building inspectors blame the collapse on corroded fasteners. No criminal charges will be filed.

Twenty-four people were injured when the deck came crashing down during a family photo over the Fourth of July weekend.

The million-dollar beach home was built in 1986 before building codes were tightened.

Town leaders say they'll come up with a plan to prevent deck accidents from happening again in the future.
