SKANEATELES, New York (WTVD) -- Newlyweds from New York are stealing the spotlight after they decided to skip tradition and took their love to the court instead.

Kayla and Matt Delaney got married at Saint Mary's of the Lake in Skaneateles, New York, on August 18.

But after the couple tied the knot, they decided to celebrate in the best way they knew how - with a good, old-fashioned game of dodgeball.

That's right, instead of sharing a first dance, the Delaney's decided to play a one-on-one game of dodgeball.

Which was rather fitting for the couple because they play on a team called the Rochester Tigers together, and their teammates were there to cheer them on and capture their dual.

As the couple takes the floor their guests immediately start to cheer, "Let's go!"

However, the first round was short lived.

In a video posted to the Rochester Tigers' Facebook page, Kayla throws a ball at her new hubby who leapfrogs over it, returns fire and strikes his new wife.

But don't worry, she gets her hit in during round two!

Their games ended with a sweet embrace and a loving kiss.

We can't help but wonder if this is how the couple will settle all their disputes in the future?

A live video the team took has been viewed more than 1,000 times.
