FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Protesters gathered outside the Cumberland County Courthouse Tuesday morning calling for justice in the murder case of Danielle Locklear.
Locklear's ex-boyfriend, 17-year-old Je'Michael Malloy, confessed to choking the 15-year-old Hope Mills girl to death during an March 11 argument.
Several weeks later, her body was recovered from the South River in Sampson County.
Malloy also admitted to having a Cape Fear High School classmate, Dominic Lock, help discard her body.
Both are now facing second-degree murder charges in Locklear's death.
Ahead of Malloy's pre-trial hearing Tuesday, Locklear's friends and family rallied against domestic violence. They said they don't want the public to forget about Danielle, and say they will be out as often as the case is called before an actual trial.
Neither of the two suspects was expected in court. A trial date has not been set.
