DURHAM (WTVD) -- Hundreds of students gathered on Duke campus Monday evening to call for action and talk about how they feel about a Donald Trump presidency.

'Duke Against Trump' organized the event outside Duke Chapel.

The Facebook group said they represent immigrants, minorities, and the LGBTQ community who they say have been the victims of hateful actions, racial slurs, and harassment.

Organizers want to educate students on the policies Trump wants to implement and what that means for them.

"We don't want to devalue any of the efforts that people have been organizing, but we are very change-oriented so we want to take this space for healing and channel all this energy and frustration directly into avenues of change," said student Lance Tran.

The event is one of several that have taken place at college campuses across the country.

High school students throughout the US have also voiced their opinions. Hundreds in different cities walked out of class and marched against Trump.
