DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Kyle Filipowski drilled a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer from the top of the key with 47 seconds left and scored the final seven points as Duke held off Wake Forest, 75-73 on Tuesday night.

Damari Monsanto hit a 3 and Tyree Appleby made a layup to pull the Demon Deacons within four, 70-66 with 1:23 left. Appleby was whistled for a foul on the offensive end and, after trading passes with Tyrese Proctor, Filipowski pushed the Duke lead to six, then added a dunk for a 75-66 lead. Appleby and Bobi Klintman each added layups for Wake Forest and Appleby drained a 3 from just across mid-court to set the final score.

Roach scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half and Proctor scored 10 of his 17 in the second to lead Duke (16-6, 7-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Filipowski finished with the 11th double-double of his freshman season, posting 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Appleby finished with 27 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal to lead Wake Forest (14-9, 6-6). Monsanto scored 14 points and Andrew Carr added 11 with three steals. The Deacons shot 24 of 64 from the field and launched 31 shots from beyond the arc, but knocked down just nine (29%).
