Stretch of 15-501 North in Durham back open after deadly shooting

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on 15-501 North near Pickett Road.

15-501 North was shut down at Tower Boulevard. The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m.

Police found a man shot inside a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim was driving northbound on 15-501 when shots were fired from another vehicle also traveling northbound.

Durham police are actively investigating.

The roadway was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
