World's oldest living twin sisters die within weeks of each other

The world's oldest living twin sisters, Florence Davies and Glenys Thomas, both died at 103 years old within just four weeks of each other at their home care center.

Florence and Glenys were inseparable to the end, spending their last days together at the Abermill Care Home in the United Kingdom. Both born on Nov. 22, 1911, their deaths came only months after celebrating their 103rd birthday with loved ones, home care staff and fellow residents.

"It was a huge privilege for all of us at Abermill to care for two such wonderful ladies," said Christine Tipper, Abermill Care Home's deputy manager. "They both made such a positive impact on the life at the home and will be hugely missed by all of us here and by their family and friends."

Glenys passed away on Thursday, April 23, just 27 days before Florence, who died on Wednesday, May 20. The sisters had five children, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren between them.

A spokesperson at Abermill Care Home told ABC News that Florence and Glenys enjoyed spending time together in the communal lounge area and lived in rooms a couple of doors down from one another.

"They even built an interior door joining their two kitchens to make it even easier for them to see each other," the spokesperson added.
