Fayetteville man faces statutory rape charges

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A Fayetteville man was charged Monday with sex crimes against a minor.

Mario Deshawn Cotton, 28, of the 900 block of Rochester Drive, was charged with two counts of statutory rape by an adult and second-degree kidnapping.

The charges stem from an incident involving a 13-year old victim on Sunday.

Cotton was arrested without incident at his home and processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $500,000 secured bond.
