Goldsboro wife faces murder charge after investigation

GOLDSBORO (WTVD) -- Goldsboro Police now describe a different scene in a case where they initially reported a man was fatally shot while assaulting his wife.



The incident happened Nov. 11. Police responded to a shooting call to find Sudon Williams, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at Wayne Memorial Hospital.



His wife, Christina Suzann Williams, 24, told officers at the time that her husband was assaulting her.

After an investigation, a warrant for an open count of murder was obtained Nov. 17 against Christina Williams in the death of her husband.



Police say Sudon Williams was shot by his wife during an argument but was not assaulting her.



The details of the argument are not being released by the police.



Williams was arrested without incident and taken to the Wayne County Magistrate. She was being held without bond.



Her first court appearance was Monday.
