Applications open for NC heating bill assistance program

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Applications are now open for those who need help heating their home this winter.

The North Carolina Low Income Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that provides a one-time payment to help with heating bills.

Households with anyone 60 or older or disabled persons are eligible to sign up for help through December 31.

All other households may apply from January 2 through March 31 or until funds are exhausted.
