NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- All lanes of Interstate 95 southbound were closed in Nash County, just south of Rocky Mount, Tuesday evening.
The State Highway Patrol says a truck hauling hazardous materials was being towed when the tow truck overheated near mile marker 127.
Fire was observed underneath the truck being towed, possibly from the brakes.
Officials took precautions and shut down the southbound lanes.
After examining the brakes, it was determined that everything was okay.
The road fully reopened after 8 p.m.
No one was injured.
