RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Getting to France and Germany from the Triangle could get a lot easier.
RDU announced Monday it will pursue new non-stop flights to Paris and Frankfurt.
There is no target date for the proposed additional flights to Europe; however, international travelers do have a single non-stop option from RDU to London's Heathrow Airport.
Right now though, the RDU Airport Authority is talking to several carriers about expanding non-stop services overseas out of the existing Terminal 2.
"The differences between the cheapest and the most expensive option can multiply by almost 10 if you travel in business class," said Tronde Dokka, a passenger flying from RDU Monday to New York for a connecting flight back home to Oslo. "For us normal people - tourists - price is important.
No word from the Airport Authority on which carriers they're talking to.
