Man in Johnston County motorcycle accident dies
The crash happened on McLemore Road near the intersection of Cleveland Fire Road.

CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A former NCCU baseball player was killed in a motorcycle crash near Clayton late Thursday night.

State Highway patrol responded to a crash on McLemore Road near Cleveland Fire Road in Johnston County. They found an overturned motorcycle with extensive damage off the side of the road.

Dylan Lee Drayton, 23, was driving while his mother, Deidre Wolfe, 44, was a passenger.

Both people were attended to by EMS and transported to Wake Medical Center. Drayton had to be revived enroute and then died at the hospital, according to authorities. Wolfe is reported to have non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities said Drayton ran off the road on the right, hitting a ditch which overturned his motorcycle.

Wolfe said Drayton was going too fast for the curve, according to State Highway Patrol.
