3 hurt but OK after serious accident near Knightdale
KNIGHTDALE (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a severe accident near Knightdale.
It happened at Knightdale Boulevard at Marks Creek Road around 3 p.m. on Friday.
Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed a sedan and a pickup that was towing a trailer were involved. Both had heavy front-end damage.
Investigators said a white Pontiac going east tried to turn left onto Marks Creek Road but went into the path of a Ford truck going west on Business 64.
The woman driving the Pontiac, identified as Abby Manning, was taken to WakeMed, where she was treated and later released.
The truck was driven by Julius Smith, state troopers said. Smith and his wife, who was in the truck with him, sustained minor injuries but did not go to the hospital.
No charges have been filed at this time.
Roads have reopened.
