RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's no secret that North Carolina is one of several key battleground states. That's not lost on the presidential candidates, who along with their surrogates have been constant presences in the state for months leading up to the 2024 general election.

Democrats think they can flip North Carolina for the first time since 2008. Republicans are out to deliver the state for Trump yet again.

Kamala Harris to make campaign stop in Charlotte Saturday

Kamala Harris is expected to make another campaign stop in North Carolina on Saturday.

Harris will be in Charlotte on Nov. 2 for a Get Out The Vote campaign Rally. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

The announcement comes after Harris held an event in Raleigh on Wednesday where she highlighted the challenges she plans to overcome.

Her opponent Former President Trump, also held a rally in Rocky Mount on Wednesday where he highlighted his strategy in dealing with gang activity as part of his broader immigration policy.

The Harris campaign has not released any other details.

Trump to hold two weekend rallies in North Carolina

It's hard to overstate how important North Carolina is in the 2024 presidential race as both major candidates and their running mates have blanketed the state.

Just on Wednesday, Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Rocky Mount as his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, was holding an event in Raleigh.

After his event, the Trump team announced that the former president would return to the state on Saturday for another event in Greensboro.

Trump will be at the First Horizon Coliseum, known to most residents as the Greensboro Coliseum, for the second time this month.

Several Republican politicians from North Carolina were there along with former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard.

Doors open Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Trump is expected to deliver remarks around 7:30 p.m.

Before the Greensboro rally, Trump will appear at one in Gastonia.

It will be held at Gastonia Municipal Airport, 1126 Gaston Day School Road.

Doors open at 8 a.m. and Trump is expected to speak at noon.

Donald Trump speaks at Rocky Mount rally

A rally for the Donald Trump campaign in Rocky Mount has begun.

The former president started speaking shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Trump spoke in Pennsylvania last night.

North Carolina is a battleground state this election and polling has the race as tight as it could be heading into Election Day.

Vice President Kamala Harris speaks in Raleigh

Vice President Kamala Harris has landed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport for her campaign rally at Coastal Credit Union Music Park.

This is the first stop of three for the Democratic nominee.

Harris spoke shortly after 1 p.m.

She will also head to Pennsylvania and Wisconsin later today.

Early Voting in NC ends on November 2.
