NC 12 on Ocracoke Island is still CLOSED, and ferry service between Hatteras and Ocracoke remains suspended, according to NCDOT.
More overwash happened overnight, and there is a short section of road with four feet of sand on it.
There is no date on when the road will be reopened.
Other parts of NC 12 remain open and passable, with some ocean overwash at Buxton and on secondary roads in Rodanthe.
NCDOT wants drivers to add some extra caution if they have to travel.
