Arrest made in July Fayetteville parking lot homicide

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A suspect in a July shooting in Fayetteville has turned himself in, police said Wednesday.



Jamarqus Deonte Hurley, 20, is in custody after he surrendered at the Fayetteville Police Department.



Hurley was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center for processing. His bond information is not yet available.

Hurley had been identified by police as a suspect in the fatal shooting of Diquane McLamb, 20, of Fayetteville as McLamb sat in a parked vehicle about 4:20 a.m. on July 27.


It happened in the area near 816 S. Reilly Road. When officers arrived, they found a driver who had been shot inside a vehicle that was in the parking lot of Discount Tobacco.



Two other people who were also inside the vehicle were not injured.
