Wreck shuts down stretch of Johnston County highway

FOUR OAKS (WTVD) -- A man was trapped in a vehicle after a single-car crash in Johnston County.

It happened at NC 210 at Dell Meadows in Four Oaks.

The vehicle crashed into a power pole, knocking live wires to the ground and closing that stretch of NC 210.

50-210 Emergency Medical Services took the man to WakeMed. His condition is thought to be serious but is unknown.

The Four Oaks Fire Department has the road blocked and the State Highway Patrol is investigating.

Duke Energy crews are arriving to inspect and handle the downed power lines.
