Grant and Amanda Hayes granted divorce

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Murder convictions were apparently enough to end the marriage of Grant and Amanda Hayes.

A Wake County judge granted the couple a divorce Monday.

She filed for divorce back from prison in August.

Prosecutors say the couple killed his ex-girlfriend, who was also the mother of his two young sons, in the midst of a bitter custody battle.

Authorities say they killed Laura Ackerson and dumped her dismembered remains in Texas.
